First of all, who is Lauren Novak?

Lauren is a Kansas City Wedding Photographer who travels all over the United States capturing elopements, weddings, and seniors at some of the most beautiful locations. 

And she is so special to me! Lauren was my very first client ever. We first connected as we are both in Kansas City (go Chiefs!), and I booked a session with her for my brand photos. During my branding session, we hit it off immediately and had such a blast! When she asked me about my business, I started diving into all the benefits it has for photographers, and she was in! 

I told her I was just starting out, and she was still willing to take a chance on me and put her trust into my business. Her interest in my business sparked so many others, and without her, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I am so thankful for her endless support from the very beginning when no one knew my name, and for being such a dear friend of mine to this day!

Pinterest Case Study: Where We Started

When we first got started with Lauren’s Pinterest marketing, her account was brand new. There was no data yet as she had nothing on her account! Before we started working together, she relied heavily on Instagram for marketing and leads. A lot of photographers get burned out from marketing solely on social media, so this felt relieving and exciting for her. 

To start, Lauren filled out an in-depth onboarding questionnaire and we jumped on a video call to go over her goals!

After understanding Lauren’s goals, it was time to start creating a marketing plan on how to get her from not having a presence on Pinterest to consistently attracting aligned clients. This is all part of the customized Pinterest strategy I create for each of my clients as strategy is the biggest factor in your success on Pinterest!

A glimpse at Lauren Novak’s strategy: 

To attract Lauren’s ideal audience, we focused on location specific keywords, promoting her resourceful blog posts to build trust with her audience, and showcasing her beautiful photography with consistent pins.   

By focusing on Lauren’s goals, she has had multiple pins go viral on Pinterest and has seen the impact on her business! Not only does she get consistent website traffic, but she gets Pinterest inquiries as well! This allows her to focus on her zone of genius while Pinterest supports her business growth in the background. 

We’ve worked together for a total of 14 months over the past couple of years (and still going), and I love every second of it!

By prioritizing search engine optimization (SEO), Lauren’s Pinterest marketing seamlessly promotes her photography for years to come.

Tips to Use Pinterest Strategically for Your Wedding Photography Business

Now, if you’re just starting your Pinterest marketing journey and aren’t ready to outsource yet, that’s okay! I’m so excited that you are on Pinterest! Here’s are some tips to support your consistency. 

Tip #1: Pin daily for a minimum of 6 months, but ideally 1-2 years! 

Don’t give up too soon. It’ll be worth it!

Tip #2: Stick with the same Pinterest strategy for 3-6 months. 

Give Pinterest time to index your pins, reach your targeted audience, and get feedback through your audience’s behavior. THEN you can adjust your strategy if needed! Don’t make any major changes or feel like you need to overhaul your strategy each month. Keep it simple, and stick to it. 

Tip #3: Have a designated time to schedule your pins. 

Whether each Monday you create and schedule out pins for the week, or once a month you schedule out pins farther in advance, put aside an entire day to do some keyword research and focus on your Pinterest content! 

You can upload your pins into the Pinterest Scheduler or Tailwind. Once your pins are scheduled, you can focus on other areas of your business until your next designated Pinterest day rolls around!
